Saipem has been awarded five new offshore drilling contracts, three in the Middle East and two in West Africa that total approximately US$800 million. The company is an advanced technological and engineering platform for the design, construction and operation of safe and sustainable infrastructures and plants.

In the Middle East, two of the new contracts have been awarded for high-specification Jack-Up drilling units, the Perro Negro 12 and Perro Negro 13. Both projects are scheduled to start in the second half of 2023. The third contract encompasses a five-year extension for an existing agreement for the high-specification Jack-Up unit Sea Lion 7, a highly versatile, self-elevating drilling unit able to operate up to water depths of 375 feet.

In West Africa, Saipem has been awarded two contracts in the Ultra Deep-Water segment for drilling operations with the sixth-generation Drillship Saipem 12000. These awards in West Africa secure the continuity of operations for Saipem in the ultra-deepwater market, while the long-term awards in the Middle East confirm the strategy within the company’s key business area.
